At the 2002 NCAA Track and Field Championships, Jones won the 100 meter hurdles. She also participated in the team finishing second for 100-meter relay. Jones has been the NCAA Champion indoor hurdles both in 2003 and 2014. The track career after she completed her studies during 2005 Jones started to train hard for an athletic career in track. In 2005 she won winning the Torino Memorial race, in 2006 she took one of the Heusden and Ostrava racers.

Brandt relocated to Auckland, New Zealand, from Cape Town South Africa in later adolescence. Brandt was discovered in Auckland by casting directors and landed the part of Naevia, in the Starz sensation Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. Working with producers Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi she captivated audiences by her acting and was one of the shows breakout starlets. Mazikeen appeared as the Vertigo/DC comics popular Mazikeen in Netflix's Lucifer, which ran for six years.
